Hoyle William Arnett

Hoyle William Arnett, 73, of Morganton died Monday, November 18, 2013 at Cannon Hospital in Linville, NC. Mr. Arnett was born May 26, 1940 in Banner Elk, NC to the late Coy and Edith Arnett. He was a member of Table Rock Seventh Day Adventist Church in Morganton and a resident of the Cranberry House in Newland, NC. Mr. Arnett began work as an orderly at Grace Hospital and Oak Lawn Nursing Home in the early 60’s; then he went to work with Drexel Heritage, Plant 3 & 5 in Morganton and retired on disability after 40 years of employment.Mr. Arnett is survived by his children, Sue Howard and husband, Hubert of Morganton, and Frank Arnett and wife, Lisa of Spruce Pine, NC; grandchildren, Sam Howard and fiancée, Ashley Love, Luke Howard and Charlie Howard; siblings, Joyce Rupard and husband, C.W. of Banner Elk, Lloyd Arnett and wife, Pat, of Morganton, Dorothy Jean Nelson of Morganton, Patsy Rupard of Newland, Billy Arnett and wife, Wilma Dean, of Marion, NC, Jimmy Arnett and wife, Sue, of Banner Elk, Larry Arnett and wife, Patty, of Banner Elk and Ronnie Arnett and wife, Annie, of Morganton; and a sister-in-law, Rachel Arnett, of Myrtle Beach, SC.In addition to his parents, Mr. Arnett was preceded in death by a brother, Doyle Arnett.The memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Dr. Calvin Acuff officiating.
