Howard Walker, 73, of Morganton, NC went home to be with his wife and the Lord on April 9, 2021. Born August 18, 1947 in Burke County, he was a son of the late Walter Walker and Eunice Smith Walker.
Mr. Walker was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather that dearly loved his family. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and retired from Drexel Heritage. He enjoyed fishing and riding his tractor, but most of all, he enjoyed sneaking candy to his great-granddaughters, Isabella and Pyper.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lowdermilk Walker and brothers, Carl, Troy, Clifford, Earl, and James Walker.
Those left to cherish his memory include, son, Scotty Walker (Tina); daughter, Wendy Walker Brady; grandchildren; Macayla Brady, Dakota Brady, and Kaitlyn Brady; great granddaughters, Isabella and Pyper; brother, William Walker; sister, Janice Hemphill; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Bethel United Methodist Church on Dysartsville Road. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with Dr. Pat Looper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
