Howard “Buddy” Lowman, 76, of Glen Alpine, NC, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023.

Born in Burke County, NC on March 9, 1946, he was the son of the late Lloyd “Buzz” Lowman and Zelda Rae Franklin Lowman. Buddy was a member of Conway’s Chapel Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Air Force. Buddy was a southeast champion in archery and enjoyed fishing, building computers, refurbishing classic cars, and woodworking.

Mr. Lowman is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Lowman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by brothers, Jay Van Lowman and Joe Lowman; sister, Lorena Tedder; and brother-in-law, David Curtis.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Conway’s Chapel Baptist Church. The memorial service will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the church with Rev. Steve Curtis officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Conway’s Chapel Baptist Church, c/o Becky Shaw, 3624 Spencer Lane Road, Lenoir, NC 28645.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Morganton Long Term Care for their compassion and loving care in Buddy’s final months.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
