Helen Rose Clark

Helen Rose Clark, 85, of Bethel Rd., Morganton passed away peacefully at her home after a courageous three year battle with cancer on February 3, 2016. She was born in Avery County on February 5, 1930. She was of the Baptist faith, and was retired from Henredon Furniture Company. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She loved to cook special dishes for her family, spend time in the mountains, and go yard selling. She will be greatly missed but not forgotten by all who knew and loved her.
Helen was the daughter of the late Cordie Rose Williams. She is preceded in death by her husband, Partee Clark; son, Thomas B. Clark; her companion, Nollie Smith; and two brothers, Herman and Bernard Rose of Jonas Ridge.
She is survived by a sister, Bonnie Burris of Spruce Pine; daughters, Betty Fletcher, Sue Orders, both of Morganton, and Mayola Decker and husband, Ronnie of Hildebran; daughter-in-law, Janice Mull Clark of Morganton; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; eleven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren and a number of great-great grandchildren; also lots of nieces and nephews and her special cat, Daisy Doe Doe.
At her request a private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family request memorials be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
