Hedy Buchanan Coffey, 93, of Morganton, NC passed away January 10, 2023. Born March 16, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Larkin and Minnie Ward Buchanan. Hedy was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Morganton, NC. Ms. Hedy was beloved by many for her “spunky” sense of humor and sweet nature.
Hedy is survived by her children, Barbara Coffey Head (James), Gary Coffey (Melody), Shirley Coffey McNeely (Malone), seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, sisters, June Gouge and Dorothy Miller.
In addition to her parents, Hedy was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Coffey; son, Ricky Allen Coffey; sister, Emma Buchanan, Estelle Ledford, Beulah Huskins, Lila Ayers, Louise Biddix; brother, Charles Buchanan.
A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Antioch Baptist Church, 2441 Antioch Rd., Morganton, NC 28655.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

She was a wonderful and sweet lady . I used to go visit her when I was little. Heaven is gaining another angel. Going to miss her so much.
