Harry “Riddle” Smith, 76, of Morganton, NC passed away, Monday, October 19, 2020. Born on September 18, 1944, he was the son of the late Harold and Bertha Smith, Riddle was an Elder at Quaker Meadows Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed watching racing, wrestling, gardening and just being outside. Riddle loved being around and interacting with people. He loved his k-9 companion, Soshie.
Riddle is survived by his aunts, Beatrice Pritchard and Lillie Mae Neal; grandson, Nicholas Andrew Johnson; ex-wife, Candy Smith, cousins, friends, and church family.
In addition to his parents, Riddle is preceded in death by his daughter, Sonia “Sandy” S. Johnson.
There will be a private family graveside for Mr. Smith.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Burke County EMS, Morganton Public Safety, and the ER staff at Grace Hospital. Also, the family wishes to say thank you to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
The family is asking that all who attend the graveside please wear a mask and social distance.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
