Harold Tracy Baker, 91, of Drexel, NC passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026 after an extended period of declining health. He was born on May 1, 1935 in Burke County to the late William Bruce Baker and Annie Benfield Baker. Harold retired from SAFT and worked at Continental Telephone. He owned Smalls Florist. Harold was an animal lover, enjoyed working with wood and going fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Smith Baker; son, Keith Baker.
He is survived by his daughter, Traci B Johnson (Stephen); daughter-in-law, Robi Baker; granddaughter, Caitlin Johnson.
A graveside service will begin at 11:00am, October 10, 2026 at Drexel Memorial Park with Pastor Brad Browning officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Harold was a wonderful man and like a second father to me. I miss him already and will forever remember how he always treated me as his own. Hugs, prayers and love to you all.
To the baker family you're in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time I know you were very close knit family Tracy I remember you as a young child growing up and how Keith and I used to talk with you Keith and I had some good conversations when he was alive and Robi I think of you often I have some good memories of Harold I know you do too cherish and preserve each one of those memories those precious memories will help get you through a very difficult time again you're in my thoughts and prayers
Tracy I am so sad to hear of your Dad's passing. I know he will be missed. It's been sometime since I had seen him but as always full of life. You are in my prayers 🙏.
