Harold Lloyd McKee, 89, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 3, 2022.

Born in Columbus County, NC on September 14, 1933, he was the son of the late William James McKee and Lucy Hobbs McKee. He was a member of Conley Road Pentecostal Holiness Church. Harold was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and retired from Broughton Hospital with 30 years of service. He also worked for several years at Dixie Container. Harold enjoyed traveling to the beach, treasure hunting, and spending time with his family. He held a special affection for his caretakers, Edith McKee, Nichole Kirschner, and Pam Winters.

Harold is survived by his sisters, Emily Watkins and Linda Pritchard; daughter-in-law, Betty McKee; sisters-in-law, Edith, Sandra, and Ruth McKee; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family; and special friend, Lemuel Sparkman.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by sons, Ray Harold McKee and William Fess McKee; infant sister, Opal McKee; sister, Kathleen Russ; and brothers, William Lawrence McKee, James McKee, Vinson McKee, and Vernon McKee.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Conley Road Pentecostal Holiness Church. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. in the church with Rev. Kenneth Milam officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the NC National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to Conley Road Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

My thoughts, hugs, and prayers are with you. Harold did not die he just changed addresses .He is now experiencing all the joy of heaven ! our minds can only imagine what he is experiencing. I will miss my dear friend.
