Harold B. Fisher, 87, of Morganton, NC died Thursday, December 10, 2015.  Born in Burke County, NC on October 13, 1928, he was the son of the late Bennett Harold Fisher and Etta Reep Fisher.  Mr. Fisher was a member of First Presbyterian Church.  He was a graduate of Morganton High School and of Cleavenger Business College in Hickory, NC.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.  For many years Harold owned and operated Fisher’s Market on E. Union Street.  After he closed the store he continued his career as a real estate developer.  He was a 32nd degree Mason in Catawba Valley Masonic Lodge #217.  He was also an active volunteer for many years at Burke United Christian Ministries.

Harold is survived by his wife, Nadine Grindstaff Fisher of the home; a son, Art Fisher and his wife, Kelly, of Morganton; daughters, Gina Fisher Isaacs and her husband, Jody, of Morganton and Marla Fisher Barnwell and her husband, Chris, of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Kelsey Fisher, Carlee Poole, Luke Fisher, Ben Fisher, Addison Poole, Ragan Fisher, Harper Kate Isaacs, Spencer Barnwell, and Holden Barnwell; and a brother, Jim Fisher and his wife, Janice, of Morganton.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by a sister, Bertie Lou Lane.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2015 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  Masonic rites will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m.  The graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m., Monday at Burke Memorial Park with the Rev. Michael Bailey officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the N.C. National Guard.
