Greta Lail Garrison, 89 of Morganton, NC gained her Heavenly Home, Sunday, July 17, 2022. Born on September 18, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Ester Lail. Greta was a member of United Baptist Church where she served as a secretary and dedicated choir member. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly. Greta retired from Alba Waldensian after 30 plus years then worked at Wal-Mart for 13 years and loved talking with customers and meeting new people. She was an avid reader but most enjoyed working outside in her yard.
Greta is survived by her daughters, Teresa Parker, Cheryl Miller (David); sister, Willena Macke; grandchildren, Rassie Rector, Joe Rector, Jessica Riggs, Matt Miller, Adam Miller; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Greta is preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Rector and father of her 3 children, second husband, Warren Garrison; son, Randy Rector; brother, Jack Lail.
The family will receive friends from 2pm until 3pm, Sunday, July 24, 2022 at United Baptist Church. A funeral will be held in the church at 3pm with the Revs. Bruce Piercy, Steve Mathews, and Justin Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Amorem Hospice.
The family would like to send special thanks to all the staff at Grace Heights and felt like God sent her special angel Liza Zellweger and loving caregivers, Cleta and Church Phillips and Jessica Beck.
