Glenn Fermin Bingham, 77, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at his residence. Born May 2, 1934 in Burke County, NC, he was a son of the late Joseph William Bingham and Essie Mae Sain Bingham. Fermin served proudly in the US Army as a military policeman from Oct. 1957 until Oct. 1959. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.Fermin is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patsy Jean Melton Bingham of the home; sons, Mark Bingham and wife, Tamra of Jamestown, NC, and Jeffrey Bingham and wife, Kimberly of Morganton; and was the proud grandfather, "Pa", of Emily; Ben, Phillip, and Travis Bingham.In addition to his parents, Fermin was preceded in death by brothers, Edwin, Delon, Warren, Presley, and Everette Bingham; and sisters, Pauline Williams and Annie Mae Bingham.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with Rev. George Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes before the funeral hour.
