Gladys Mildred "Mimi" Burkleo

Gladys Mildred "Mimi" Burkleo, 96 of Marion, NC died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at her home. Born in Denison, TX on May 23, 1915, she was a daughter of the late N.W. and Mary Basden Seabolt. For over forty years she worked as a beautician in Fort Worth, TX. She was very proud of her work during 1940 as a welder in the San Diego, CA Shipyards. Mimi was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Morganton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd Knight; two brothers; two sisters; and three grandsons.Surviving are her daughters, Janet Powell and husband, Ralph, Betty Knight Stump and husband, Frank all of Morganton, NC, Barbara Hendrixson and husband, W. T. of Mansfield, TX, and Leona Knight of Fort Worth, TX; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and ten great great grandchildren.The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Calvary Assembly of God, Pea Ridge Rd., Morganton with the Rev. Mike Whisenant officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour before the service.
