Gerald N. Short

Gerald N. Short, 80, of Morganton passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018. Born in Poinsett County, AR on July 2, 1937, he was the son of the late William Anderson Short and Floy Lena Watson Short. Gerald was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Gerald was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked for General Motors.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Short of the home; son, Thomas Short and wife, Sherry, of Morganton; daughter, Pamala Cox and husband, Jimmy; of Marion, NC; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, William Short of Michigan; and sister, Dorothy Thurlow of Coloma, MI and Joyce Lunsford of Stevensville, MI.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmie Short.
The funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, January 29, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Rev. Kenneth Whittington officiating.
