George Steve Allen

George Steve Allen, 86 of Morganton, NC passed away Friday, February 9, 2018. He was born December 29, 1931 in Rutherford County, NC and was the son of the late Jay Allen and Georgia Williams Allen. George was a member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church and was also an active Glen Alpine Ruritan member from many years. George was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Clarence Allen and Mary Dixon.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Franklin Allen; children, Randall Franklin Allen, and Kimberly Allen Baldwin and husband, David all of Morganton; grandchildren, Gaby Jaynes, Austin Jaynes, Tania Bass and husband, Scott, Andrew Baldwin, Breanna Baldwin and Mackenzie Graham; great-grandchildren, Nohlan Jaynes, Skylah Fitzgerald, Ciara Bass and Traci Rutherford; and siblings, A.J. Allen, Earl Allen, Ophelia Hart and Zelma Odom.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2018 at Glen Alpine United Methodist Church. A celebration of life service will follow at the church at 1:00 p.m. with Reverends Barbara Mayo, David Duncan and Tom Beall officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force and Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Glen Alpine United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O.
