George Alfonzo Peirce, III, 66, of Morganton, NC passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

Born in New Hampshire on February 4, 1959, he was the son of the late George Alfonzo Peirce, Jr. and Katherine Fernette Peirce.

George loved being outdoors. He enjoyed working on engines and was a jack of all trades. He had a love for motorcycles, especially Harley Davidsons, and enjoyed riding his own any chance he could. George was known for having a good time with family and friends and his dog, Junior.

George is survived by his children, George Alfonzo Peirce, IV (Stella), Michelle Perry (Bradley), Nicole Cook (Curtis), and Kristie Hawkins (Dewayne); grandchildren, Alzira, George, Lydia, Christiana, McKenna, Page, Tyler, Jacob, and Nathan; brothers, David Cota and Richard Cota; and sister, Kathy Peirce.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Karen Peirce; and brother, Thomas “Freight” Peirce.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
