George Alexander Kincaid, 67, of Morganton, NC, peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, July 10, 2025 after an extended illness.

Born in Burke County, NC on December 31, 1957, he was the son of the late Billy Rusty Alexander Kincaid and Blanche Feimster Kincaid. George was a self-employed painter and worked with Diamond Field Construction. He enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, playing spoons, dancing, pitching horseshoes, and playing pool. George never met a stranger and would help with anything he could. Throughout his life he had many special friends he would refer to as brother. He loved spending time with all his family and brothers.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 42 years, Jane Duckworth Kincaid; his special needs boy of 19 years, Tim Clark; sister, Lyn Kincaid; brother-in-law, Doug Johnson; nephew, Rusty Estill; extended family, Shawn (Hannah), Carson, Carter, Jessica (David), Justin, Maggie Kay, and Hazel; many special cousins; and a special caregiver, Sylvia Addison.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a sister, Libby Johnson.

The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Burke Memorial Park with Rev. Thomas Herman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Signature Day Program, c/o Tim Clark, P.O. Box 250, Morganton, NC 28655.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I’m proud to say I’m one of George’s brothers. We spent a lot of good times around a campfire playing guitar while George played the spoons. He’s at peace now, resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior. We will meet again someday in Heaven. I love you my Brother, thank you for being my friend and My Brother.
