Gayle Brittain, 68 of Morganton, NC passed away, Sunday, March 10, 2024. Born on March 26, 1955, she was the daughter to the late Albert and Clara Brittain. Gayle loved the Lord, spending time with her family and friends, and taking care of her four-legged grandbabies. She always told her friends to “just be happy!” Gayle enjoyed working and was a longtime employee of Drexel Furniture. Later she went to work in home health care.

Gayle is survived by her daughter, Renee Brittain Gralheer (Brent); step-grandsons, Austen and Carson Gralheer; sisters, Ruth Posey, Jane Whisnant; brother, Wayne Brittain; sister-in-law, Shelia Berry Wilkes (Charles) and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Gayle was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Bruce Brittain; 3 nephews; 2 great-nieces.

The family will receive friends from 2pm until 3pm, Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 3pm in the chapel with the Pastor Phillip King officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burke County Friends for Animals.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
