Gary Dennis Woodruff, 61, of Lenoir, NC died Wednesday, February 17, 2016. Born in Caldwell County, NC on February 11, 1955, he was the son of the late Howard Dempsey Woodruff and Betty Louise Beard Woodruff. Mr. Woodruff was an avid gardener, especially of tomatoes.
A loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Gary is survived by his daughter, Becky Kersey and her husband, Dennis, of Lenoir; grandsons, Benjamin and Hunter Kersey; a brother, Harold B. Woodruff and his wife, Helen, of Lenoir; sisters, Debra Matheson and her husband, T.J., and Sarah J. Hollar, all of Lenoir; his special buddy and physician, Dr. Marc Guerra; and his canine companion, Lucky.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by two half-sisters, Sophia and Margaret Woodruff.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Worship Point Baptist Church. The family will greet friends at the church following the service.
