Garland Eugene Terry, 76, of Morganton, NC passed away Friday, September 1, 2017. Born in Burke County, NC on July 28, 1941, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Terry and Bessie Lee Allman Terry. Garland was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his garden.
Mr. Terry is survived by his son, Ricky Terry and fiancé, Lisa Penley, of Morganton; daughter, Reba Terry Bollick of Morganton; and grandchildren, Candace Terry and Curtis Coleman, both of Morganton.
In addition to his parents, Garland was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Terry; and a brother, Bobby Joe Terry.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm, Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral will be held at 3 pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Ed Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
