Frank Kibler Berry, 93, of Morganton, NC, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026.
Born on April 7, 1933, he was the son of the late Russell Lamar Berry and Evelyn Kibler Berry.
Frank graduated from UNC with a major in history and a minor in chemistry, and he was a member of the Chi Psi fraternity. He served as a pilot in the US Air Force and then as a pilot for the Air National Guard Reserves. He served in Ohio, Tennessee, Georgia, and Texas. Mr. Berry was a member of First Baptist Church in Morganton. He sold chemicals for various firms such as FMC, Hilton-Davis, Sun Chemicals, and Sequia, and he received awards for distinction for his salesmanship, leadership, and mentorship.
Frank is survived by his wife, Connie Clarke Cobb Berry; son, Anson S. Berry (Janet); daughter, Catherine Berry Musick (Michael); step-sons, Brandon E. Cobb (Jennifer), D. “Andy” Durden (Kelly), and David W. Durden (Jodi); step-daughter, Deborah Durden Grimaud (Keith); five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Janet Kirby (Jim); a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family; and the mother of his children, Sydney B. Fuller.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his former wife, Carol P. Berry; son, Evyn K. Berry; and sister, Lamar B. Blanton.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., Saturday, August 22, 2026 in the Kistler House at First Baptist Church of Morganton. A celebration of Frank’s life will follow at noon in the church sanctuary with Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. and Rev. Mike Johnson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, PO Drawer 459, Morganton, NC 28680-0459.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
