Frances Sylvia Scott, 86, of Morganton, NC passed away peacefully on Sunday September 30, 2026.
Born in Burke County, NC on October 19, 1939, Frances was the beloved daughter of the late James Scott and Nettie Epley Scott
Frances was a devoted member of Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church. She found great joy in traveling, and most of all, spending precious time with her family. She was known for her love of decorating, bringing beauty and warmth to both her home and church
Frances will be remembered for the love she shared with those around her, the memories she created with her family, and the lasting impact she had on the lives of everyone who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sisters, Janice Bradshaw and Laura Elias; nieces and nephews, Wendy Rogers (Jim), Amy Moody, Scott Williams (Robyn), Shannon Williams (Laura), and Brooke; great-nieces and nephews, Ashley Whisnant (Kevin Bivens), Amber Whisnant, Daniel Caldwell, Danasia Caldwell, Jessica Williams, Danielle Williams, Taylor Williams, Melina, Harrison Rogers and Savannah Rogers; great-great-nieces and nephews, Shyann Patterson, Dason Patterson, Kiree Patterson, Kamari Bivens, Izzy Barlow, and Eli Scher; great-great-great-nieces and nephews, Ahmiir White, Kalani White, and Baelin Patterson.
Frances was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Scott; and a brother, Ronnie Scott.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with Rev. Cris Uren officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
