Frances McCurry Bridges, 87, of Morganton went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, November 9, 2017.  Born in Rutherfordton County, NC on April 10, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John Simeon McCurry and Ethel McCurry McCurry.  Frances was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she served on numerous committees, especially the Kitchen Committee.  She retired from Western Carolina Center.

A loving mother and grandmother, Mrs. Bridges is survived by her daughter, Cathy Knox and husband, Chris, of Morganton; grandson, Jeremy Auldredge and wife, Ashley, of Connelly Springs, NC and Kelby Auldredge and wife, Jenny, of Claremont, NC; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Landon, and Tyler Auldredge and Brooke, Lawrence, and Adalyn Auldredge; sister, Katie Neely; sister-in-law, Joan McCurry; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Hannah Mosteller, Diane Hennessee, and Yvonne Crawley.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Waldo Bryan Bridges; brothers, Oscar McCurry and Mack McCurry and wife, Ida; sisters, Geneva Costner and husband, Edwin, Elsie Setzer and husband, Roy, and Morene Hall and husband, Joseph; and brother-in-law, Frank Neely.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2017 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.  The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Michael Gantt officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family.
