Floyd Moore, 69, of Morganton, NC, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026.

Born in London, KY on January 15, 1957, he was the son of Pearl George Moore and George Moore.

Floyd attended Praise Assembly of God. He worked in heating and air most of his life and was noted for being an excellent technician who could fix anything. Floyd enjoyed being outside and working in his flower and vegetable gardens. He had beagles his whole life and enjoyed rabbit hunting on Saturday mornings. Floyd loved his grandchildren.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his son, Jamie Moore (Angel); daughter, Jessica Bess (Cody); adopted son, Wayne Howard (April); grandchildren, Hunter Moore, Remington Moore, Lakeland Moore, Carissa Sigmon, and Elias Bess; siblings, Georgie Miller, Barbara Kincaid, Ray Moore, Ed Moore, and Wanda Vance; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his father, George Moore; wife, Janice Morgan Moore; and brothers, Roy, Doyle, and Hank Moore.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2026 at Praise Assembly of God. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with Rev. Marty Bess officiating. Burial will follow in Park Hill Memorial Gardens.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
