Florence Hice Fleming

Florence Hice Fleming, 84, of Autumn Care of Drexel went home to be with her loving Savior on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. She was born July 5, 1922 in Burke County, NC, and was a daughter of the late Claudus C. Hice and Mary A. Shuffler Hice. In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Marshall Fleming; four brothers and four sisters. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. Florence was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.She is survived by a son, Earl Fleming and wife, Beverly; daughters, Evelyn Benton and husband, Paul, Cora Fleming and fiancé, Gary Trantham; a sister, Eva Berry; and a sister-in-law, Jessie Hice, all of Morganton; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m, Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Riverside Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Rowland officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at Sossoman Funeral Home.
