Floatie M. Sigman, 94, of Morganton, NC died Sunday, July 14, 2013. Born in Braxton County, WV on February 11, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Willie Sigman and Hattie Miranda Bowen Sigman. She attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Floatie and her mother moved to Morganton in the spring of 1989 and continued to care for her mother until she died at the age of 99 ½ . She then made her home with Loretta and Grady Church; she continued to live with them until she moved into Morganton Long Term Care. She never married, had no children, and was a care-giver all her life. Floatie loved to read, travel, embroider, and was an excellent quilter. She was the last of her family to pass away.Floatie is survived by her niece and caregiver, Loretta Church and her husband, Grady, of Morganton; and a number of other nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Oral, Burnell, Willie, Jr., Raymond, and Ronald Sigman; and a sister, Olive Butcher.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddy Bunton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans, WV with the Rev.
