Fern Carswell Boles

Fern Carswell Boles, 93, of Bethesda MD, formerly of Ponderosa Rd. in Morganton, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010 in Bethesda following a period of declining health. She was born January 14, 1917 in Burke County, and was a daughter of the late Absolum Carswell and Carrie Mae Suttles Carswell. She was a member of the Morganton Seventh Day Adventist Church, and a retired employee of the Carolina Conference Literature Ministry with Seventh Day Adventist Church.Fern is survived by sisters, Jewel Davis of Morganton, and Edna Proestel of Bethesda, MD.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Johnson Boles; brothers, Tellis and Hollis Carswell; and sisters, Belle Mace and Donna Redman.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery with Elder Barry Mahorney officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morganton Seventh Day Adventist Church Building Fund, 2187 Jamestown Rd., Morganton, NC 28655.
