Faye Fairchild, 74, of Morganton, NC passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017. Born in Haywood County, NC on July 14, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Cass and Gladys Ledford McGaha. Faye was a member of North Morganton Baptist Church and retired from Drexel Furniture Company.
Mrs. Fairchild is survived by her son, Jimmy Sutton of Waynesville, NC; daughters, Jane Pearson of Guam and Carla Henson of Morganton; grandchildren, Tori and Larry Sutton of the home; 5 additional grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Shirley Fairchild of Canton and Hazel Keaton of Advance, NC.
In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Fairchild; daughters, Judith Whitson and Melinda Sutton; a brother, Cass McGaha, Jr.; and her partner of 23 years, Clarence Rutherford.
A memorial service for Mrs. Fairchild will be held at a later date.
