Faye Annette Waldrop Powell, 76 of Morganton, NC passed away Tuesday December 6, 2022.

Faye was born August 7, 1946 in Burke County to the late Edwin Harold Waldrop, Sr. and Sara Helen Breedlove Waldrop. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Faye retired from Western Carolina Center after twenty plus years of service. She enjoyed going to yard sales, working with her flowers and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Faye is preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Eleanor Randall; and sister, Vicky Waldrop.

Faye is survived by her husband, Ronald Powell; daughters, Tracy Navey (Tommy) and Kelly Crowe (Kelly); step-son, Randy Powell; grandchildren, Christopher Randall (Dana), Matthew Randall (Stephanie), Kaleb Crowe, Kasey Crowe, and Korey Crowe; great grandchildren, Joanna Wiles and Grace Wiles; brother, Edwin “Eddie” Waldrop, Jr. (Darrell Anne); and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Tim Hodge officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
