Evelyn “Maxine” Tallent, 89, of Morganton died Thursday, January 23, 2020. Born in Catawba County, NC on August 10, 1930, she is the daughter of the late Pinkney Alexander Abee and Emma Dameron Abee. Maxine enjoyed hunting, fishing, sewing, and helping people in need.
Mrs. Tallent is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Tallent Hottle (Alex); son, Tony Alexander Tallent; and grandson, Marcus Tallent.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by husband, Earl Edward Tallent, Sr.; son, Earl Edward Tallent, Jr.; granddaughter, Donna Michelle Caudle; great-grandson, Tyler Craig Caudle; brothers, Jim, Jack, Brady, Tony, and Maynard Abee; and sisters, Ruth Hydes and Arthear Barrier.
Private service will be held at a later date.
In honor of Maxine, memorial contributions may be made to Burke United Christian Ministries or to Christian Ministries of Lincoln County.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
