Eva Belle Benton Crowder, 90 of Morganton, NC passed away, Sunday, November 26, 2023. Born on February 3, 1933, she was the daughter of the late James and Annie Benton. Eva loved being outside in her garden and quilting. She loved her family very much.

Eva is survived by her children, Tim Crowder (Nonna), Penny Crowder (Kenneth Sprouse), Lisa Payne, Lydia Stroud (Kim); 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul Benton, Carl Benton; sisters, Margaret Kincaid, Diane Williams, Jane Benton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Henry Crowder; infant daughter, Mona Lisa Crowder; infant son, Rory Dean Crowder; daughter, Rita Crowder; brothers, Jim, Aaron, Ray, Robert, John Benton; son-in-law, Stephen Saulman.

The family will receive friends from 11 am until noon, Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at noon in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Eddy Bunton officiating. Burial will follow at 3pm at Fairview Baptist Church in Spruce Pine, NC.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
