Eunice Jewel Laney Barrier, 91, of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, October 22, 2014. Born in Bryson City, NC on October 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Wesley Vance Laney and Mary Jane Cook Lane. Eunice settled in Burke County in 1993.
Mrs. Barrier is survived by her daughter, Brenda “Beverly” Barrier of the home; and brothers-in-law, Charles, Dennis, and Max Barrier, all of Marion, NC.
In addition to her parents, Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman D. Barrier; brothers-in-law, Roy, Dean, and Ray Barrier; and a sister-in-law, Ruby Barrier.
The graveside service will be held at noon, Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
