Eunice Faye Fox Weatherford, 82, of Morganton, NC, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026. Born on January 6, 1944, in Caldwell County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Roy Fox and Mamie Bailey Fox.
Eunice was the first in her family to graduate from college, earning her bachelor’s degree in education from St. Augustine College in Raleigh, NC. For 28 years, she taught in public schools, sharing her love for knowledge with countless students and inspiring them to reach for their dreams. Even after her retirement, her commitment to education didn’t fade; she served as a substitute teacher for another 19 years. She truly cherished her role as an educator and had a gift for connecting with her students, whom she loved dearly.
A proud member of Highways to Hedges Ministries in Lenoir, NC Eunice wasn't just dedicated to her career; she was also deeply devoted to her faith and her family. She loved gardening, spending time nurturing her plants, and creating a peaceful oasis in her backyard. Eunice had a thirst for adventure, traveling the world and even taking a spontaneous dream trip to Switzerland. She enjoyed getting lost in a good book, allowing herself to escape into different worlds through the pages.
Eunice will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and her well-balanced approach to life. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who loved her, and her memory will forever be cherished.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Allen Weatherford (Rita) and Rachael Parker (Eddie); grandchildren, Christopher Parker (Sophia), Michael Parker, and Jessica Parker; great-grandchildren, Ethan Hawkins, Noah Hawkins, Emma Hawkins, and Amina Parker; siblings, Paul Fox and Evelyn Susan Fox; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Eunice was preceded in death by four siblings, James Fox, Eddie Joe Fox, Mary Fox, and Bobby Fox.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m., Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Sossoman Funeral Home, and the funeral will be held at 4 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
