Ethel Carroll Bradshaw

Ethel Carroll Bradshaw, 92, formerly of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Autumn Care of Drexel. Born February 7, 1919 in Yancey County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Lynn Carroll and Ida Elizabeth Carroll. Ethel was an active member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and worked in the nursery. She was a retired employee of Crestline Furniture.Ethel is survived by sons, Arthur Bradshaw of Morganton, Kenneth Bradshaw of Marion, Gene Bradshaw and wife, Katy, and Wayne Bradshaw and wife, Janice, all of Lenoir; sisters, Ruth Yule of Marion, Thelma West of Icard, Lois Jenkins of Oxford, NJ, Barbara Buchanan of Bakersville, Carolyn Nanny of Connelly Springs, and Bonana Bowens of Icard; a daughter-in-law, Doris Bradshaw of Morganton; twelve grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Bradshaw; two sons, Rev. Boyce Bradshaw and Jimmy Ray Bradshaw; three brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 16, 2011 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Rev. Burt Wilbur officiating. Burial will follow at Drexel Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday at the church one hour before the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
