So sorry to hear about Ernie. I worked with him at IRS for many years and sat next to him for several years. Ernie never had a bad word to say about anyone and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. I enjoyed hearing about his family, especially how proud he was of his kids. Rest in Peace, Ernie. Bonnie Hitt
You are missed, Ernie. You were husband, father, grandfather, veteran, true friend and patriot. The first day we started working together in Cleveland, 1977, we became immediate friends. When you transferred back to Rochester after a few years we kept in touch with phone calls, emails, birthday and Christmas cards. While in Cleveland you never missed driving home to your family for the weekend ….. on I-90 through those blizzards of late 70’s. Bless you, Ernie, Val, Johnathan and Heather & Sara.
I remember Ernie from the 98th Division. He was knowledgeable of his job in the military and was a nice guy, who was approachable. He had no problem in giving you a hand, if needed. Rest in Peace Ernie.
Having grown up directly across the street from Ernie in Rochester, NY, I can't remember a time when I didn't know him. In all that time, I never had any reason to say a bad word about him. Having been a charter member of Ernie's "Relaxation Club," I spent many happy hours lying in a pup tent in his back yard, drinking RC Cola and reading comic books. These happy memories of Ernie have lasted 70+ years and, I expect, will continue until I join him. Rest in peace, Ernie! You deserve it.
The Veterans Outreach Center of Rochester NY extends our deepest sympathy in Ernie's passing. We acknowledge and are truly grateful for his service to our country.
So very sorry to hear about Ernie. Great neighbor and friend for many years in the 10th Ward. Sending our hugs and prayers to the family. Hoping all the good memories will help you through this difficult time.
RIP soldier, you have earned it!

I moved to South Carolina in 2021 and reached out to my cousin Ernie ( My mother was Ernie's Dad's sister) hoping to meet up again with him having not seen him since his Dad's funeral in 1999. Unfortunately his illness prevented us from re-establishing a relationship. While I was not in frequent contact with Ernie , I always understood from my mother Doris and others ,that he was a fine husband ,father and grandfather and a patriot who served his country. I know he is in heaven with the Lord and his parents . Val you have our sincere condolences and prayers in your time of loss. God bless you and your family.
