Eric Bryan Duckworth, 51, of Morganton, NC, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
Born in Burke County, NC on June 30, 1975, Eric was the cherished son of Jerry Lee Duckworth, Sr. (Ruth) and Janice Linda White Duckworth. He was an outgoing, fun-loving individual, who brought joy to those around him. He showed his deeply caring nature by tenderly looking after his mother, Janice, during her illness.
A proud veteran, Eric served his country with distinction in the U.S. Army Reserves, completing two tours of duty in Iraq. After his military service, he pursued higher education and earned an associate’s degree in business. Eric worked at both Broughton Hospital and the local prison system.
Outside of work, Eric was a kid at heart who loved the strategy and fun of playing sports games and board games. He also loved the outdoors and found peace hiking through the beautiful trails of North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, Eric is survived by his devoted brother, Jerry L. Duckworth, Jr. (Delores); his beloved nephews, Jerry L. Duckworth, III, David M. Duckworth, and Kaleb “Forest” Duckworth; and a large, loving circle of extended family members.
No services are planned at this time.
