Elsie Lingerfelt Saucier, 89, of Pineville, NC went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 7, 2017. Born in Burke County, NC on June 20, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Harrell Lingerfelt and Ruby McMahon Lingerfelt. Mrs. Saucier enjoyed travelling, especially to the beach.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Elsie is survived by her children, Ralph Turner (Carolyn) of Lincolnton, NC and Gail Turner Thomas (Roland) of Pineville, NC; grandchildren, Michael Turner, Ashley Hairfield, and Christy Turner Cochrane; great-grandchildren, Bailey Thomas, Lillie Thomas, Hunter Turner, Noah Hairfield, Nathan Hairfield, Abagail Hairfield, and Hannah Turner; sisters, Betty Mull (Nolan) and Josephine Whisenant (Charles); and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Saucier; brothers, Bobby and Billy Lingerfelt; and a sister, Dorothy Trammell.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2017 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Fred Mitschike officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
