Elsie Ann Stamey Spencer, 83 of Christalina Ct., Denver, NC left her earthly home on Saturday, August 20, 2022 and now resides with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in her mansion in the sky. Born on November 25, 1938 in Burke County, NC she was the daughter of the late Clarence Herman Stamey and Reba Searcy Stamey Setzer. Elsie attended Morganton High School, and married her childhood sweetheart, John Wesley Spencer.

Elsie enjoyed crafts, sewing, needlework, flower gardening, and reading. She was an avid golfer and an enthusiastic Elvis fan. Throughout the years, Elsie and John were active square and round dancers.

Elsie was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose natural beauty, bright blue eyes, and radiant smile captivated everyone she met.

Mrs. Spencer is survived by her husband of 66 years, John Spencer; two daughters, Andrea Svendsen and her husband, Eric, of Yorktown, VA and Rochelle Whittle and her husband, Howard, of Denver, NC; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her love will live on through her family.

The family will receive friends from 10:30am until 11am, Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 11am in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
