Ellen Ruth Hardin

Ellen Ruth Hardin, 90, of Morganton, NC passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026. She was born on November 13, 1935 in Burke County to the late Ben Brackett and Nettie Flynn Brackett. She was a longtime member of Morganton Seventh Day Adventist Church. Ellen loved to cook for her family and she enjoyed being outside, especially walking around her home. She loved her dog, Sadie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Hardin; daughters, Peggy York, Trina Hardin Curtis, Holly R. Hardin; siblings, Clyde Brackett, Fons Brackett, Edna Manz, Edith Maples, Margie Brown, Blanche Serra and Clara Andrews.

Ellen is survived by her daughter, Arty Hensley (Bobby); three grandsons and three granddaughters; sons-in-law, Nick Curtis and Jimmy York; and multiple great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3pm, Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Morganton Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
