Ella Allman Hudson, 82, of Morganton passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007, following several years of declining health. Mrs. Hudson was born May 11, 1924, in Rowan County to the late Janie Harrison Allman and Isaacs Tony Allman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Hudson; three brothers, Harrison S. "Shine" Allman, Leon Allman, and Robert S. Allman; and by two sisters, Mae Allman Halliburton and Sarah "Tincy" Allman Whisenant. She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and retired from Leviton/Southern Devices.
She is survived by two brothers; Warren I. Allman, Jr. and William Alfred Allman; her foster son, Rodney Whisenant, and his wife, Lisa, all of Morganton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside rites will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at Burke Memorial Park with The Rev. Mike Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:30 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home of Maxine and Forest Roper of Selman Ave., Morganton.
