Elizabeth Rose Walker, passed away September 14, 2023. Born on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, she was the daughter of Anna Brown-Walker and Jaimeson Walker.

Elizabeth had a rare congenital heart defect and defied the odds for 23 days. In her short time, she touched the lives of so many. People from all over joined together to pray for her journey. She gave her parents the joy of knowing her and loving her. She loved when her daddy tickled her feet, and when her mommy held her hand or rubbed her head. She also loved FaceTime calls and videos from her brothers and sister. Her nurses joked that she gave a great “side eye” when they did something she didn’t appreciate. She fought bravely for three weeks and passed peacefully in her parent’s arms. As her brother Jack always said to her: “Elizabeth, we love you the best we can.” And we always will.

In addition to her parents, those left to cherish Elizabeth’s memories are her big sister Scarlett Brown and big brothers Jack Walker, Teddy Walker; grandparents, Patti and Jason Roehrig, Mike and Lynn Brown, Pam and Bill Walker; great-grandparents, Mary Patton, Sue Clark, and Gail Sutherland; aunts and uncles, Morrissa Walker, Samantha and JJ Ferris, Dylan Brown; and a number of extended family.

We’d like to thank the doctors and nurses at Levine Children’s Hospital for giving us three precious weeks with our daughter.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 24, 2023 in the Fellowship Hall of First Methodist Church Morganton with the Rev. Dana McKim officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
