Elizabeth Gray "Lib" Conley

Elizabeth Gray "Lib" Conley, 79, of Morganton, NC passed away Friday, November 4, 2011 at Magnolia Lane Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in McDowell County, NC on November 8, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Joe H. Gray and Ida Elizabeth Bost Gray. Lib was a very active member of Burkemont Baptist Church.She retired from Shadowline after 44 years and had also worked for Mattress and Furniture Sales. Lib?s many hobbies included traveling and gardening.She is survived by her husband, Donald W. Conley of the home; daughters, Phyllis Bowers and husband, Freddie, of Waverly, IA and Chris Shuffler and husband, Dude, of Valdese, NC; a step-son, Chris Conley and wife, Nancy, of Eldorado Hills, CA; grandchildren, Holly Shuffler, Dustin Shuffler, Zack Conley, and Catlin Conley; sisters, Dare Houck of Marion, NC, Dean Browning of Nebo, NC, and Carolyn Spencer and husband, Dan, of Nebo; a former husband, David Browning of Nebo; special friends, Alan and Linda Calhoun, and Christin Walker, and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Lib was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Dellinger.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 7, 2011 at Burkemont Baptist Church with Reverends Eddy Bunton and Brian Skeggs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.Memorial contributions may be made to Burkemont Baptist Church, 4668 Burkemont Road, Morganton, NC 28655 or to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690.
