Elizabeth “Beth” Carswell

Elizabeth “Beth” Carswell, 81, of the Enola Community, Morganton, NC, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

Born in Burke County, NC on January 16, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Elisha Harrison Carswell and Corine Terry Carswell.

Beth was a faithful Christian and a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Beth enjoyed fellowship with her church family and helped with the children in the Awana Program. Beth was known for her thoughtfulness and always remembered special occasions by mailing greeting cards often to family and friends. She retired from Drexel Heritage in 1984.

In addition to her parents, Beth was preceded in death by her brother, Toby Carswell, and sisters, Eloise Crosby and Virginia Rockett. She is survived by her ‘adopted’ family, Rick, Crystal, Peyton, Anna and Landry Mull, and Josh, Kayla, Malachi and Lydia Falls, as well as her family at Country Pines Family Care Home where she resided for the past 10 years.

The graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2026, in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Jack Hodges and Rick Mull officiating. The family will greet friends in the fellowship hall following the service.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
