Edna Tilley, 80, of Morganton, NC went home to be with the Lord Thursday, August 12, 2021. Born on August 9, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Lemmie and Velvie Hudson. Edna was a member of Silver Creek Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher in the past.
Edna is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Smith and husband, Brian, and Christy Greene and husband, Clay, all of Morganton; grandchildren, Caleb Greene and his significant other, Tayla Curtis, Chelsea Greene Moses and husband Nathan, and Amanda Allman and husband, Ben; great-grandchildren, Lydia Allman and Tanner Greene. brother, Wayne Hudson.
In addition to her parents, Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Sam Tilley; granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Brown; great-granddaughter, Madison Nicole Brown.
Edna was an avid gardener and loved planting flowers. She loved to travel and enjoyed yearly yard sale trips with her daughters and granddaughters. She was a selfless woman who loved her family immensely, and she brought love and light to everyone she came in contact with.
The family will receive friends from 3pm until 4pm, Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Silver Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 4pm in the church with the Revs. Larry Thompson and Justin Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Amorem Hospice.
