Edna Lucille Michaels Propst, 69, of Morganton went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Born in Burke County, NC on February 20, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Edward Michaels and Martha Josephine Blalock Michaels. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly.
Mrs. Propst was a member of the wonderful church family of Nowlings Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. She was the heart of her family and dedicated her life to her family and friends.
Edna is survived by her husband, Vernon Propst of the home; children, Lee Propst and April Propst Chapman; grandchildren, Brittany Propst, Trey Propst, Tanner Chapman, and Connor Chapman; sisters, Carol Reece and Loretta Mosteller; sister-in-law, Louise Gilley; life-long friends of 51 years, Clinton and Joan Reel and their family; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by 3 brothers, James Michaels, Edward Michaels, and Alton Sims; and a sister, Sue Lowman.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Nowlings Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Darvy Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in South Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
