Edna Deal Lail, 95, of Drexel, NC, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Born in Burke County, NC on July 13, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Deal and Myra Mull Deal.
Edna had an artistic streak and enjoyed creating beautiful embroidery projects. She also enjoyed candle wicking, gardening, raising flowers, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her granddaughter, Katie Gordon; daughter-in-law, Margaret Gordon; son, Jim Gordon; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her first husband, Jacob “Jerry” Gordon; second husband, Rev. Albert Lail; son, Bernard Gordon; and brothers, Russell Deal and wife, Lillian, and Ken Ervin Deal and wife, Lydia.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The committal will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Burke Memorial Park Columbarium.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Hickory Village, Carolina Caring, and Amorem Hospice for the loving, compassionate care shown to Edna and family.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

My sweet loving aunt Bryan and I will miss you greatly. I remember cleaning out grandma and grandpa's house and you walking across the road. You and dad with those big brim hats. We love you and cherish the moments we had with you.
