Eddie King, 56, of Morganton, NC, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025. Born on February 14, 1969 and raised in Yancey County, NC, he was the son of the late George King and Mary Sperry Tessneer. A painter by trade, he worked with multiple painting companies, including Durham Painting, G.S. Huff Painting, and Andy Smith Painting. When not working, Eddie enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, riding motorcycles, and playing guitar. He cherished time with family, especially his grandchildren. Eddie is survived by his partner of 33 years and wife of 23 years, Lisa Reid King; sons, Corey King (Savannah), Jason Reid (Raelyn), and Chris Reid (Susanna); daughter, LaShana King; grandchildren, Gunner, Addison, Texie, Jet, Brooklyn, Faith, and Hunter King, and Emma and Macie Reid; and brothers, Jerry Rose (Tammy) and Randy Rose (Karen). The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2025 at Silver Creek Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with Rev. Homer Tessneer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements. I'm so sorry. I can't believe he's gone. Goes to show we are getting older. We are leaving this world one by one. I'm kinda jealous he's with our Lord and we're still here. I'm gonna miss you Edward. He always called me Juanita . Everyone else called me by my nickname (peanut)

I’m really lost for words.. Eddie was a very good guy!! He was kind, funny, sweet. It was a privilege to know him!! He was one of my brother in law’s!! Very special friend, him and his wife Lisa.. We love you and miss you SO much!! Your laughter your smile..Randy and I will miss you until we meet again!! Show em what’s it’s all about up there in Heaven.. RIP brother…💙💙💙💙
