Dwight C. Penley, 71, of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, August 29, 2018. Born September 1, 1946 in Burke County, NC, he was the son of the late James Free Penley and Lela Bell Carswell Penley.
Mr. Penley was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War. He attended Mull’s Grove Baptist Church and owned and operated Penley Plumbing.
Those left to remember and to cherish his memory are his wife, Frances Dale Penley of the home; sisters, Naomi Buff (Major) and Hazel Causby (Dennis Walker) all of Morganton; nieces, Tammy Farris, Heather Causby, and Renee Whisnant; and sister-in-law, Quteen Whisnant of Morganton.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m., Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Mull’s Grove Baptist Church.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. with Brother Bud Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by North Carolina National Guard.
