Dustin “Dusty” McCurry, 43, of Morganton, NC, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026.
Born in Burke County, NC on May 28, 1983, he was the son of John Merrell and Kathy Elaine Gouge Merrell.
Dusty dearly loved his family, and he also loved animals and plants.
Those left to cherish his memory include his father, John Merrell; son, Damian Ray McCurry; brothers, John Allen Merrell, Jr. and Robert Ambrose Merrell; nephew, Raylin Ambrose Merrell; uncles, Jerry Lee Jones and John Crane; aunt, Tracy Merrell Edwards; grandmother, France Crane; and numerous extended family.
In addition to his mother, Dusty was preceded in death by his grandmother, Harriet Merrell; and grandfather, Junior Crane.
Services for Dusty will be held at a later date.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
