I knew Dr. John Schug while pursuing my Ph.D. in Chemistry at Virginia Tech. He was a difficult teacher and took his time to answr any questions during his Quantum Mechanics course. A quiet person by nature, and difficult to know. I had no idea he was interested in fox hunting which most of us would find revolting. We, as graduate students, knew absolutely nothing about any hobbies, artistic ability, etc. that Dr. Schug had. We only knew him as a disciplined unyielding Chemistry Professor. Having just returned from Vietnam, he really did not want to hear anything about returning Vietnam Vets. I was happy to pass is course and move on in my graduate studies. Douglas S.
