Doris "Mom Dot" Stroupe Annis Morris

Doris "Mom Dot" Stroupe Annis Morris, 88, of Warner Robins, GA died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at her residence. Born February 25, 1924 in Burke Co., NC, she was a daughter of the late Frank David Stroupe, Sr. and Cordelia Rhodes Stroupe. Doris was a former longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Morganton, and then became a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Bonaire, GA. She loved to sing in the choir, and was strong in her faith. Doris worked for many years at Burke Furniture Company. She also owned and operated her own interior design business; Doris Annis Decoration Center.She is survived by her daughter, Terri Annis of Supply, NC; grandchildren, Melisa Stewart Wellman and husband, Jeff of Warner Robins, GA, Natasha Stewart of Supply, NC, and Mark Harbison and wife, Kristi of Morganton; great-grandchilden, Blake Wellman, Alec Wellman, Madilee Wellman, Caleb Harbison, and Nicholas Harbison; and a number of nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her first husband of 49 years, Fred Annis, Jr.; her second husband, John Morris; a daughter, Pamela Harbison; and siblings, Frank Stroupe, Jr., Helen Baum, and Cecil Graham McKinney.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Morganton with Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. and Rev. Fred Schuszler officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday in the church parlor one hour before the funeral service.
